We are photographers, and we love what we do. We chose the name Sonrisa because it means smile, and that’s what we hope clients do when they see the photographs we have taken for them.
Shari began her photography career working with top wedding studios in the Los Angeles area. Photography not only fits her interest the visual world, but it also corresponds with her interest in cultural anthropology. She believes photography plays a valuable role in families, in history, and in cultural identity, and she is honored to be able to work in the field.
Alan studied filmmaking in college and has made films and written screenplays. He started working as a photographer in college, shooting events and other functions. He sees photography as a form of storytelling. Every picture is a story and every photograph should evoke memories of a time, place and moment.
Alan and Shari met on a photography shoot in Southern California, started dating, married, and started Sonrisa Photography six years ago. The smiley boy in the photo is our Son Ford, who came into the world on July Forth and has brought joy into our hearts ever since. Below that there’s a few recent in action shots.
